Upon entering the Buthawa plains, we immediately observed a recently killed wild boar perched atop a tree branch. This particular tree is renowned for being a favored location of leopards, although it can only be viewed from a distance. To obtain a clear image of the wild boar kill, I affixed a 2x converter to my 600mm lens. After two hours had elapsed, a hawk eagle descended upon the kill to partake in its spoils. However, the eagle abruptly took flight as a leopard materialized out of thin air. The leopard endeavored to transport the kill to a higher branch, but it slipped from its grasp. With remarkable dexterity and sheer strength, the leopard retrieved its prey by seizing it in its jaws and hoisting it back up to the branch. The task was further complicated by the setting sun, which cast a challenging light for focusing. A brief window of opportunity presented itself, allowing me to capture this moment.
