In 2017, I had the opportunity to visit Yala National Park, which is renowned for its leopard population. During my visit, I observed that it was a particularly dry month and the water holes were rapidly drying up. However, what caught my attention was the sight of a mother leopard and her two cubs quenching their thirst from a foot hole that had been created by an elephant on a drying pond. It was fascinating to note that other foot holes in the vicinity were also filled with water despite the dry season.
