Description

Description

One of the most remarkable sights I have encountered is that of a boisterous, bustling, and indigenous Layards Parakeet in the Sinharaja Forest. Bright green, long-tailed parrot, with a gray hood and conspicuous black throat. The beak is red-orange in males, but all dark in duller females as the one captured in this image. Periodically, she would bring sustenance for her offspring, and I managed to capture this photograph just prior to her departure from the nest.
